DIY Baby Sweaters

When I was pregnant with miss Kenna, I just wanted to make all of the cute baby things.  I had only ever made knit and crocheted blankets, gloves, hats and scarves.  When we found out we were having a girl, I decided to make her a DIY sweater or two… or three.  I’ve never paid for a single pattern, so I’ve linked the pattern I used here.  It’s not my pattern, but if you’re interested in any of the modifications I made, feel free to comment and I’ll get back to you.

Materials:

I used 1″ buttons purchased from Walmart, and DK weight yarn in a variety of brands, but all 100% polyester (which I regret).  They were quick knits; each took me about 3 hours of knitting total, and I even left the hood off of the second two I made.  The pattern is extremely easy to customize – I even scaled the pattern up twice to attempt to make a sweater for my husband (the sizing was fine, I just lacked the patience to finish it).
She hasn’t fit into them yet, so I don’t have action shots.  Here are some pictures of the sweaters in progress:

Let me know if you decide to use the DIY sweater pattern, I’d love to see how it turns out!

Until next time,
Rachel
